For me, there is something really special about photographing my dearest friends and family. The people that have walked through so many stages of life with me. Personal struggles and greatest joys. Professional struggles of different jobs and anxieities. From practicing newborn photos on their first born son when clearly I didn’t know what I was doing, to feeding cake to their disgruntled toddler when baby number two came along to try and get just ONE family photo. I get to document them as a family for them… but, it is for me also. I love them too and get excited about how much they have grown and how much my skills have grown since our first shoot together when they were just tiny on my cheap camera and immature ideas.
I also feel this love for my clients. Especially the ones that stick with me year after year. What a gift it is to grow closer to them and get to know them just a little bit more each time we spend together. I’m really looking forward to this fall season and all the precious faces I’ll get to see!!
Here are a few shots of my sweet friends and their littles back when they were on the farm this spring. Can’t wait to get back there in a few weeks for fall shoots!!
