It is cliche to say that I love my job. Which, I really do love my job. But, what makes me love my job more, are weddings like Ashley and Brandon’s. I’ve known Ashley since she was a little girl, her aunt was one of my best friends in high school … I photographed her family … shot her senior pictures.
I’ve gotten to know Brandon’s family in the last few years as well, particularly his mother, and now call her a dear friend … I also photographed their family, the last professional time before their dad sadly passed away.
I love shooting weddings like Ashley and Brandon’s not only because they are incredibly in love, super sweet, kind and gorgeous … but, also because of the connection. The connection photography has given me to connect back to my roots from the city. Connection with old friends and tons of hugs. Connection between these two and the beginning of the life I know that will be filled with many adventures. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Ashley and Brandon for having me. I love you guys and was so honored to be part of your day!!
**While the portraits I took from their wedding were some of my absolute favorites, if you scroll all the way to the bottom … this one really pulls at my heart. It isn’t a good photo. Frankly, technically not good at all. It’s a bit out of focus and if I didn’t explain it to you, it probably wouldn’t make sense at all. But, in this shot, what I saw was Michelle’s friends rallying around her. Coming to the dance floor after the mother/son dance to cheer her on, cheer her up and just let her know how much they love her. That’s what I love about this crew, about a small town. I loved that I witnessed that moment and took a not so perfect photo … then again, it’s not always about the pretty picture, but the connection:-)**
